Day 1

Sorrento and Pompei

Arrive in Sorrento in the late morning and check in to your boutique Hotel, your room high on the cliffs overlooking the sea. We suggest taking the short train to Pompei. Pompeii was destroyed, and completely buried, during a long, catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. The volcano collapsed higher roof-lines and buried Pompeii under 60 feet of ash and pumice, and it was lost for nearly 1,700 years before its accidental rediscovery in 1748. Since then, its excavation has provided an extraordinarily detailed insight into the life of a city at the height of the Roman Empire. Dinner and overnight in Sorrento.

Day 2

Sorrento and Capri

This morning we recommend taking the hydrofoil to the Isle of Capri. This sun-soaked playground for the rich and famous is popular for a reason. Whether your intention is to shop, visit the Blue Grotto, Villa San Michele, or admire the flora and fauna, few places provide better options for a day excursion. Return to Sorrento for dinner and overnight.

Day 3

Positano and Ravello

After breakfast, you will be picked up by our private driver, and whisked along the sometimes treacherous, always beautiful Amalfi Drive to Positano. Here you will take time to explore the charming narrow streets, dotted with elegant boutiques as you make your way down to the sea. Lunch in Positano. Return to the car and continue along the Coast until reaching Ravello, now high above the sea. You will have time to visit the two famous gardens: Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo, as well as see Gore Vidal’s impressive mansion until recently. Return to Sorrento for dinner, limoncello, and overnight.
