Day 1ParmaArrival in Parma and check in at Hotel. A Private Walking Tour in the afternoon will introduce you to this elegant city, known mostly for its’ parmesan cheese. Parma enjoys a rich and diverse musical and art background. Parma was the birthplace of Giusseppe Verdi, and his influence today is still very much present. Tonight you will get your first, but certainly not last sample of Parma’s amazing cuisine. Dinner and overnight. |
Day 2Parma and BussetoAfter breakfast, departure to the Consorzio of Parmigiano Reggiano cheese factory where you will join an early morning tour. The visit will walk you through the entire cheese making process. This visit will last the entire morning and concludes with a tasting of the delicious cheese. We suggest you spend the afternoon visiting the charming town of Busseto, where Giuseppe Verdi, one of the greatest composers of Italian opera, was born and lived. Return to Parma for dinner and overnight stay. |
Day 3Parma and MaranelloBreakfast at the hotel. Another great product of the land of Emilia Romagna is the Balsamic Vinegar of Modena. Depart in the morning to discover this amazing delicacy. Visit an old vinegar factory to witness the production and aging process, followed by light lunch and tasting at the facility. In the afternoon, consider a stop in nearby Maranello to visit the Ferrari Museum. Ferrari is an icon of Italian style throughout the world. You do not have to be a “car buff” to appreciate the progression of the Ferrari throughout the years. Return to Parma. Dinner and overnight. |
Day 4Parma and BolognaEnjoy breakfast at the Hotel and check out. A cooking lesson in Parma is the perfect way to wrap up a visit to this indulgent town. We will go to a local restaurant in Parma that specializes in hand-made egg pasta. After a three-hour course on simple and stuffed pasta, you will be equipped to go home and open your very own osteria…or at least feed your hungry family. Once recovered from your food coma, get in your car, and drive to the town nicknamed “La Grassa" (The Fat): Bologna. |
Day 5BolognaThis morning you will take a three-hour walking tour of the city. Your tour will take you through the medieval streets to discover the history, art and traditions of Bologna. Visit the most significant monuments of Bologna: The Fountain of Neptune, Palazzo Re Enzo, Piazza Maggiore and more. Dinner and overnight. |
Day 6BolognaDepending on your interests, we will happily arrange either a visit to the sexy Ducati Motorcyle Museum and Factory, a trip to nearby Dozza and its’ Castle, or a day of wine tasting. Dinner and overnight. |
